2. Place butter in a 9 x 13 Casserole dish; set in oven to melt.
3.If using can peaches- Open your can of peaches and drain just the juice right off the top of the can. (I drain about 1/2 C. and leave the rest) Pour them into a small mixing bowl and add 1/2 C. Sugar and your vanilla.

4. In a medium size mixing bowl add flour, sugar, egg, and milk; stir till combined.
5. Remove your Casserole dish from the oven and pour in your batter then spread peach mixture evenly over the batter. (yes, over the batter, juice and all)
6. Place in oven and cook 35-45 min. Be sure not to over bake.* ( mine takes about 40)* Remove and allow to cool 10 minutes before serving. Top with Ice cream,
Fresh peaches
Peel and slice peaches and place into a medium saucepan with lemon juice and sugar over medium high heat.Allow to come to a boil while stirring; remove from heat and add vanilla.
